For years, the Chiva Som destination spa in Hua Hin has been "the" place to go for the ultimate in pampering, especially if you needed to drop a few pounds. There have been a few challengers over the years, but none have succeeded. Well, until now.
Times Online has put Chiva Som to the test, up against upstart challenger, the latest Six Senses spa that opened late last year on Phuket. It’s a running battle based on style, services, food, etc. The spoiler: Six Senses wins, but not decisively.
Emirates Airlines this week confirmed that it would be shifting one of its Airbus A380 Superjumbos on to the Dubai – Bangkok route. The move is expected to up the luxury factor on service to Bangkok, since the first class on-board services include shower spas, a lounge open to both first and business class passengers, and an entertainment system boasting 1,000 on-demand channels.
The A380 will be used on one of Emirates two daily flights between Bangkok and Dubai starting 1 June 2009.

Omni Marine offers a range of boats for charter, from the sleek Ferretti 680 motor yacht to the Queen of the Andaman, a luxury sailing yacht already featured in my Phuket pages. Charters can be for anything from an afternoon deep sea fishing to week long diving and snorkeling trips through the Andaman islands.
