Villa Sasoon in Candidasa

I came across Villa Sasoon during a recent stay in Candidasa on Bali’s east coast. The area doesn’t have much in the way of posh resorts, although the luxe Amankila is just down the road in Manggis.

I got a tour of a two bedroom villa from the front desk manager. It was quite an impressive place. The entry was flanked by a large dining table and even larger kitchen. A few steps down from the entry is a large living area with several comfortable chairs, a sofa and a massive coffee table made from a large slab of wood. The living room has folding glass doors that allow it to be completely open to the central courtyard, or closed in case of bad weather. Beyond the living room is an outdoor patio with lounge chairs and an outdoor dining table. A small plunge pool sits in the middle of the courtyard. Opposite the living room is the master bedroom, with a large bathroom that has a huge bathtub inside and a shower outdoors. To one side of the pool is the smaller bedroom.

There are four one- and two-bedroom villas in all. There is no restaurant, but you’re just a short stroll away from all the great restaurants that line Candidasa’s main road. If you want to order room service, they have an arrangement with the hotel next door, and if you’d like something fresh-cooked in the villa’s impressive kitchen they can arrange for a chef on a day’s notice.

Check the Villa Sasoon web site for more information, or check Hotels Combined for discount rates.
