On 1 November 2011, the Bangkok Marriott Resort will become the Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa. The Marriott has become a favorite among many frequent visitors, by offering a resort-in-the-city atmosphere. It was one of the first hotel projects by Minor Group, a large Thai company specializing in food, hospitality and retailing. The group went on to found the Anantara chain, so it was only natural that they chose to re-brand the property when Marriott’s management contract ended.

Several areas of the resort are already under renovation, to be ready for re-opening by the re-branding date. These include the two special restaurants, Benihana and Trader Vic’s. For reservations and more information, you can visit the Anantara Bangkok Riverside web page.
