The Continent Hotel – Bangkok

The Continent Hotel Bangkok is just a few steps from the busy Asoke intersection. It’s an area I pass through four or five times a week, so I’ve seen the building under construction for a year or more. For much of that time, there was a big Ramada banner on the side of the structure, but apparently the owner had a change of heart at the last minute and decided against the affiliation. Riva Surya – Bangkok

Riva Surya is a new hotel set right on the river just north of the Grand Palace area, in the center of old Bangkok. The 68-room hotel bills itself as a five-star property, and it certainly is rather posh at first glance, but I seriously doubt it can live up to the standards set by Bangkok’s well-established POSH properties. Still, with high season published rates starting at around $100 you might find it good value for money, especially for a riverside location. (Continue reading →)
