Getting to Koh Lanta Yai

Ferries from Phi Phi, Phuket (via Phi Phi) and Krabi town arrive at the pier in Saladan at the north end of Lanta Yai. If flying into Krabi's airport, it's best to take a taxi or van directly to the island via the overland route, which will still involve two short ferry rides.

You can plan on the drive to Lanta taking around two hours, depending on where on Lanta Yai you're staying and how long you have to wait for the ferries. A taxi (private car) transfer will set you back about 2,300 Baht (61.18 USD), while a van (shared taxi) will cost about 800 Baht (21.28 USD). Check with your hotel, since some of the more luxe resorts may include free transfers with the room.
