Prambanan

The Prambanan Complex just outside Yogykarta in central Java is less well-known than the nearby Borobodur Temple, but no less impressive. The towers of the central grouping of the Prambanan Complex

Portland Web Window

Portland is full of interesting architecture. There are beautiful structures from the last century, charming homes, and even asome quirky structures. On the quirky side is a brick house in the West Hills area with a roof meant to resemble thatch and leaded glass windows with spider web patters.

Malta Morning Glories

In late April and May, the countrysize of Malta is covered with numerous varieties of flowers such as poppies, morning glories and capers. The morning glories come in many bright shades from blue to purple. Brilliant purple morning glory flowers.

Vimanmek Mansion

Vinamek Mansion in Bangkok is a marvelous attraction that often gets only a quick visit, when it can be worth a whole day to see all the other palace buildings in the compound. One wing of Vimanmek Mansion

Lotus Lagoon

Candidasa, on Bali, was one of my favorite places on the island. It's developed with several small-ish hotels and lots of restaurants, but not over-run with tourists. This lagoon (a former bay now cut off from the sea) is at the center of the northern area of the town.

Falls Creek Falls

So good they named it twice. Getting to the falls requires a short hike so it's less visited than some of the other spectacular falls in the Gorge. Located in Gifford Pinchot National Forrest, north of Stevenson, Washington. Falls Creek Falls

Wat Si Chum

Little visited but much photographed, the small temple of Wat Si Chum in the ancient Siamese capital of Sukhothai contains the remains of a small chapel (mondop) that barely encloses a serenely seated Buddha image. View through the ruined prayer hall to the chapel.
